Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8am – 5pm (Additional OT hours are available, ask for more details.)
Position Overview: The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, door repairs, floor repairs, welding, fabrication, etc. on dry van trailers. This position will work alongside 6 – 8 other mechanics to maintain our large fleet of dry van trailers. At this shop or any 10 Roads Shop you will be surrounded by a team of mechanics all at different levels of knowledge and experience. Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Perform preventative maintenance on dry van trailers.
- Annual FHWA inspections on trailers
- Repair and maintenance on tires, air brakes, wheel seals, light repairs, trailer door repairs, ABS, fabrication, etc…
- Complete required paperwork and enter data into maintenance software after each job
- Perform assigned tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience on heavy duty tractors and trailers
- Basic knowledge of ABS, air brakes, roll and swing doors, electrical, tires, etc…
- High School Diploma/GED, Trade or Vocational Training preferred
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Must have adequate tools to perform tasks required
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position (lifting up to 100+ lbs., bending, climbing, standing for duration of shift, etc.)
- Driver’s License is required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check test.
- Effectively read, write & understand verbal instructions in English
