Surgical Services – OR Peri-operative 101 Residency Fellowship for new nursing grads!
Summary:
Our fellowship in innovatively designed to provide a unique educational opportunity to Registered Nurses who have a desire to pursue a career in the operating room. Throughout the program you will learn evidence-based standards that elevate your knowledge and skills to provide excellent quality of care. Our 6-month Peri-op 101 program encompasses a didactic program, simulations, on-line learning through the AORN PerOp-1-1 course and rotations through the surgical service lines at Baylor Medical Center Frisco (BMCF). The first portion of Program Orientation includes a combination of the above including hands on training with an OR Educator and designated RN preceptor. The remainder of orientation will be spent rotating through various surgical specialties applying the roles and responsibilities of the circulator. Upon successful completion of our program, employees will be placed on their hired shift.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN).
- New Graduate RN
- Experienced RN with no prior OR experience
- Active RN License required
- Active BLS required
- Computer skills
