Join Macquarie Public Investments in our Global Headquarters based in Philadelphia as a Structured Products – Non-Agency RMBS Trader and Analyst. You will be part of an active trading desk and bring your experience knowledge to the role of non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities and the associated broader structured product markets. With your strong quantitative and modeling skills, you will contribute alpha generating investment opportunities within risk appropriate guidelines to our investment portfolios.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting, distributing, and analyzing market information using a variety of tools and databases such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, Intex, and Excel to identify critical data for decision-making. Performing analysis and price discovery of RMBS securities across the private and public agency sponsored markets.
  • Maintaining relationships with the sell-side counterparties to generate and execute security trades within portfolio strategies in a fast- paced environment across various portfolio strategies.
  • Applying fixed income trading and analysis skills to broader Structured product asset classes in a cross-coverage structure including agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), Asset-backed securities (ABS), and collateralized loan obligations (CLO).
  • The collaborative nature of the Structured products team emphasizes in depth discussions and sharing of information across collateral types.
  • Generating risk management reports with detailed information on the diversification, durations, and risk of the portfolios while considering the investment, compliance, and regulatory guidelines of the fund. Analyzing portfolio positioning versus the both the benchmark and each funds respective peer group
  • Tracking assigned sector spreads and formulating and communicating opinions of relative value in the non-agency mortgage market sector. Stays abreast of relevant news events. Develops relationship with sector analysts to develop a fundamental and holistic view of opportunities and risks.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements through data analysis. Python or other programming skills are a plus.

Your background will include:

  • Undergraduate degree (preferably in accounting, finance, or economics). Progress towards MBA or CFA preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience
  • Strong PC skills including a broad knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and other applicable software packages. Python skills are a plus
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Excellent communications and mathematical skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
