Job Description:

The Project Manager for this position will work onsite for the Grand Island VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Grand Island Nebraska. The Project Manager will act as an Owner's Representative to assist the client with coordination of design and construction projects. Experience with construction in a medical center setting will be highly preferred for this Project Manager position.

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience in developing and maintaining complex project management activities.
  • Graduate of an Architectural, Engineering or Construction Management college curriculum with a four (4) year degree OR an additional 5 years of relevant project management experience.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, with experience preparing correspondence, written reports, maintaining official project records, conducting meetings, and briefing clients and management personnel.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and techniques
  • Ability to inspect materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems in the Architect's or Engineer's area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry incl. OSHA
  • Knowledge of applicable codes related to their disciplines.
  • Ability to interpret/coordinate Architectural/Engineering plans and specifications.
  • Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams of professionals
  • Experience and familiarity with Federal and local government building projects, and with procedural, review, and approval requirements.
  • In-depth experience in interpreting construction drawings and specification.
  • Familiarity with related engineering fields, including civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Familiarity with International Building Code, NFPA (including NFPA 101 Life Safety Code)
  • Ability to use and access VA Master Specifications, Design Guides, and Design Manuals.
  • Ability to obtain VA computer access by successfully passing a security screening, which may include fingerprinting, financial, and criminal background checks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
