Job Description:
This seasonal non-exempt position is responsible for the de-icing and clearing of snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties in an efficient and safe manner; perform related work as required.
Essential Functions:

- Performs snow removal functions (e.g., plowing, shoveling, ice picking);
- uses hand tools (e.g., ice pick , shovel);
- conducts snow removal procedures efficiently;
- uses snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, ATVs, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually-operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal proficiently and safely;
- distributes de-icing solutions, including bagged ice melt or rock salt safely and appropriately;
- works as part of a team and takes direction;
- understands and meets contract scheduled deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality;
- keeps accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines;
- maintains a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow;
- maintains company-provided equipment, tools, and vehicles;
- attends safety meetings;
- applies de-icing chemicals (e.g., sodium chloride, calcium chloride);
- role models PPE usage;
- demonstrates an independent understanding of routine snow removal procedures (e.g., plowing, salting, snow relocation, shoveling);
- ensures all job quality performance expectations are met to company standards;
- reports issues to Snow Foreman;
- is available to work in an “on-call” format involving irregular and long hours depending upon weather conditions;
- provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner.

- Equipment Operation: Operates various types of snow removal equipment (e.g., plows, snow blowers, ATVs, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades) properly and safely; uses equipment only for the desired purpose it was designed to achieve; maintains equipment quality.
- Job Quality: Understands the relationship between job quality and customer service, satisfaction, and retention; ensures existing structures (e.g., mailboxes, signs) are not damaged and quality standards are always met.
- Customer Service: Consistently exceeds customer expectations; keeps customers well-informed, listens to them attentively, and addresses their concerns; enacts a personal approach to customer service.

Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; work in extremely cold and freezing climates for long periods of time; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Licences/Certifications:
License: Though desired, a valid class C driver’s license, is not required of this position.
Certifications: No certifications are required of this job classification.
Language: Though not required, bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable.
Working Conditions: Work is predominately outdoors, exposed to extremely cold and freezing temperatures, and noise levels; exposure to dust, grease, oils, snow removal chemicals, dust, fumes, and electrical currents.
Background Investigation: Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates may be subject to a background investigation and/or drug test.
Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification serve an introductory period of three months.
The Key Performance Indicators for this position will be specified at the time of appointment.
