Landmark Home Health is looking for a Scheduling Coordinator/Authorization to work in our Sharpsburg office with strong computer and organizational skills with the potential of working periodically remote after completion of 6 months of employment.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for scheduling, coordinating activities of visiting staff insuring adequate coverage consistency. Reports discrepancies and problems to Clinical Manager. Obtaining initial and ongoing authorizations for patient visits.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules, coordinates and evaluates activities of all visiting staff. Insures adequate staff coverage and consistency with Landmark Home Health Care Services philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison with the Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisors and home health staff to insure timely and appropriate delivery of care.
  • Completes and monitors all visiting staff schedules. Make revisions reassignments as necessary.
  • Coordinates all new visiting staff field orientation and provides pertinent information to the Clinical Supervisors and/or Clinical Manager.
  • Completes the weekly report of Late Documentation and distribute report to Administrator, Clinical Manager and Clinical Supervisors.
  • Prepares the daily, weekend and holiday schedule.
  • Reports staffing needs and coverage areas to the Clinical Manager.
  • Communicates pertinent patient information daily to the Clinical Supervisors/Clinical Manager.
  • Responsible for completing the on-call schedule.
  • Calls patients to verify that they are home and notifies them of any copays or deductibles. Informs that a clinician will be calling to set up time for visits.
  • Obtains initial and ongoing authorization for all insurance payors.
  • Documents insurance authorization in electronic medical record and notifies staff of authorized visits.
  • Runs authorizations reports, analyzes and follows up.
  • Communicating with staff regarding insurance authorizations.
  • Notify Clinical Supervisor of questions from insurance company regarding patient.
  • Notify Clinical Manager of any insurance denials received.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma plus 3 years or greater of scheduling experience or a Graduate of College or University and at least one year of experience in the field.
  • Medical terminology a must, with a working knowledge of third party payors and the requirements for obtaining authorization on managed care accounts.
  • Knowledge of fundamental computer operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal working hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.
