National Director, Education Strategy & Innovation Job at National Center for Families Learning
The National Center for Families Learning, a private nonprofit organization located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a National Director, Education Strategy & Innovation to serve as primary leader for NCFL's programmatic offerings including program design, immersive technologies, development, delivery, improvement, and ongoing management for NCFL's vision and strategic priorities. This position is responsible for overseeing and supporting the functions of four teams: Family Literacy, Family Engagement, Family Leadership, and Professional Learning teams ensuring cross-functional collaboration occurs to facilitate integrated processes for aligned and coordinated programming.
Internally, this role will work closely with the National Director, Community Impact and other senior team members to spread and scale NCFL community-based programming. This role will also collaborate with the Research and Evaluation function to ensure input from research and evaluation and alignment with the organization's efforts to build a base of evidence to be used to inform program improvement, policy development, and advocacy. Additionally, as a senior team member this role will focus on alignment and coherence across departments, maintain a future-focused orientation to support innovation, and adhere to and implement the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments.
Reporting to the President, the National Director will work to raise awareness, strengthen the organization's presence and profile and attract investments and partnerships necessary to support the organization's mission and vision. The National Director must be able to frame and clearly communicate NCFL's work in contexts that are relevant and meaningful to a diverse stakeholder group, including learners, community and local leaders, funders and donors, decision-makers, and policy advisors. Initiatives must maintain high standards and be reflective of the overall mission.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires at least 7-10 years of experience in leading large-scale education systems, a master's or doctoral degree
- Ability to envision new opportunities based on evidenced-based best practices, build programs, and drive project success toward NCFL's mission and vision
- Knowledge of, and experience with, immersive technology and educational technology platforms for advancing learning
- Actively contribute to a positive, professional work culture focused on growth, development and learning across departments and teams
- Experience in education, literacy, and family and community engagement
- Experience in data analytics and program evaluation
- Able to develop, implement, and manage strategies for measuring, tracking, and reporting on program outcomes and impacts against goals and grant requirements
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, challenging, and constantly changing environment
- Communication, collaboration, and partnering skills, and experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Leadership and consensus building skills
- Strong supervision skills, and ability to attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performing team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance
- Ability to write grant proposals, reports, and articles when needed
- An unwavering belief that all families want the best for their children and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity
- Proven track record of ambitious results in previous roles
- Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
- Skilled at collaborative action planning and execution
- Travel approximately 40% of time including occasional evenings and weekends

Salary range $100,000-$120,000
