ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:

· To assist with the daily direction of individual Grounds Maintenance employees.

· To work as a hands on working supervisor and assist with a wide variety of maintenance tasks.

NATURE OF POSITION:

· Reports directly to the Landscape Manager.

· Will respond to requests made by other supervisors within the department.

· Will utilize and cross train others within the department to ensure a pool of qualified employees can assist with operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Requires a minimum of 3 years of landscape experience preferably in a Florida location.

· Requires a sound knowledge of specialized skills such as pruning, plant installation, herbicide application and landscape design.

· Must be able to motivate crew members.

· Excellent verbal communication skills are required.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Will be required to apply fertilizers and pesticides as needed.

· Must be able to endure prolonged and repetitive bending, kneeling, walking, digging and sweeping.

· Must be able to tolerate, and perform duties, in extremes of outside elements such as heat, cold, rain etc.

· Must be able or learn to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.

· Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES IN ATTAINING ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:

· Will assist with the direction of the daily maintenance activities of individual Grounds Crew employees.

· Will communicate and work closely with Technicians and outside specialists to integrate their skills and activities with those of Grounds Crew employees.

· Will manage special projects as assigned by the Landscape Manager.

· Will develop the horticultural skills of Grounds Crew employees through field demonstrations and activities.

· Will perform once a year Development Discussions with Landscape crew members.

· Will communicate and work closely with Grounds Crew employees to assure that customer service and safety are primary considerations in every operation and activity in which they are involved.

Will perform other duties as requested

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
