A Desktop Support Contractor will:

  • Perform systems analysis, data analysis, maintenance, and production support within the organization's IT Systems and Infrastructure environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.
  • Work on small projects.
  • Work on moderate problems and tasks.
  • Ability to work 10 a.m. CST to 7:00 p.m. CST to support our West Coast team.

Essential Duties:

  • Log into Help Desk phone queue and takes support calls.
  • Create ticket on calls and resolves them or passes ticket on to appropriate team.
  • Setup and configure desktops and laptops for end-users.
  • Installs and configures software and hardware.
  • Create user accounts and perform Active Directory administration.
  • Perform some Exchange tasks, including but not limited to creating user mailboxes.
  • Provisions users for Citrix.
  • Troubleshoot simple to moderate hardware and software problems.
  • Work tickets with a focus on meeting or exceeding service level agreements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Desktop Support, hardware/software installation and troubleshooting
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS operating systems, Windows 10
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Products
  • Ability to multi-task and work within time constraints
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The skills necessary to understand of complex automated systems
  • Ability to work simple to moderate problems independently

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 1 year of IT experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 2 or more years of work-related experience, in Desktop Support/LAN Support, or related role
