The Crew Leader Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for leading and training crew in the set-up and operation of either the Bartelt or Sandiacre machines to produce an acceptable finished product.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Performs pre-operational inspection and checks all safeties on all equipment on assigned line.
  • Be able to set up and monitor all associated equipment on assigned line; scale, metal detector, check scale, code dater, etc.
  • Be able to operate and monitor either packaging machine in Operators absence.
  • Performs weight and O2 level checks as required.
  • Checks and records use of in-process material.
  • Tallies and records daily production.
  • Performs and records metal detector checks.
  • Leads, trains and monitors work of assigned crew.
  • Supplies all lines with packaging supplies & WIP.
  • Wraps & delivers finished goods to connector dock.
  • Attends safety training classes and assists in training crew.

  • The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds periodically.
  • Vision requirement should be 20/40 for near and far vision.
