Job Summary
The Coordinator of Public Relations develops, manages and handles the college's marketing plan, initiatives, media, and budget, and designs marketing materials.
Henderson Community College serves approximately 1,900 credit, dual credit, adult education and workforce development students annually in a three-county region of Northwest Kentucky. The college also serves several counties in Southwest Indiana by offering in-state tuition. Henderson is one of 16 colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The college and its faculty and staff are focused on student and community development and success. HCC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Job Duties:
- Develops and manages the implementation of the college's comprehensive marketing plan. This includes day-to-day duties such as the writing of press releases, managing marketing campaigns and contracts, and working with various divisions on marketing initiatives.
- Manages, schedules and develops the schedule of social media communications including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Writes and releases external college electronic communications, including external newsletters.
- Maintains internal communication outlets for HCC faculty, staff and students including the e-newsletters, campus TV and marquee.
- Creates special video projects and oversee campus photography to promote HCC events, activities, programs and initiatives.
- Serves on various college committees and work with various college departments to ensure strategic enrollment management outcomes.
- Manages the department budgets and oversees expenditures of departmental accounts in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and restrictions.
- Represents the college in professional groups, external affairs, and system-wide activities. Assists the Chief Advancement Officer with college advocacy campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, business administration, journalism or related field, plus two years related experience, or equivalent.
- Experience in marketing/public relations preferred.
- Strong social media skills across multiple platforms preferred.
- Strong graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop preferred.
- Professional certifications preferred.
- Budget and financial oversight experience preferred.
- Effective communication and technology skills.
- Strong commitment to student success and team-building.
