Summary:

Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. is seeking a qualified Assistant Project Manager to provide professional services and support to the Support Base Services (SBS) to the United States Army Garrison (USAG), Fort Bliss, Texas. Installation Management Command (IMCOM) is responsible for providing support base services to the Army, which includes supporting Active Component (AC) deployments / redeployments and Reserve Component (RC) mobilizations / demobilizations. IMCOM accomplishes this mission through USAG staffs which have historically been augmented during surge mobilizations / deployments with RC soldiers and SBS personnel.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Advises the PM and DPM on all operational issues that could affect the project's contractual status.
  • Provides senior-level leadership, institutes programs to develop their leadership and performance capabilities.
  • Ensures that the project's operations are conducted according to the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Provides and coordinates input to Lessons-Learned summary; coordinates/prepares reports, records, and recommendations.
  • Conducts inspections and submits reports, as required.
  • Perform other duties as required / assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Business or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in management of a similar or multifunction operation.
  • Two years of Project/Program Management experience (as Principle or Deputy/Assistant).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and must prove clean driving record and current vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Knowledge of Army rank structure and military unit relationships.
  • Knowledge of mobilization/demobilization operations IAW FORSCOM Regulation 500-3-1 through 500-3-5.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services (i.e., customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction).
  • Ability to monitor/assess performance of self, other individuals and organizations to make improvements or task corrective action.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for personnel recruitment, selection, training, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Effective communications skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, judgment, and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent business writing skills and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English.
  • Delegation skills to task and to hold subordinates accountable for task accomplishment.
  • Organization skills to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Intuitive, interpretive, and analytical comprehension to rapidly identify and resolve problems.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Engineering, or other project and personnel management discipline.
  • Military experience as an E-7/8 or 0-3/4.
  • Operational experience as US Military, USG Civilian, or civilian contractor.
  • Continuing education in project management, working knowledge of project planning.

Clearance: Secret Clearance Required

Location: FT Bliss, TX

Travel: Occasional travel shall be required
