JOB SUMMARY:

The Web Developer’s role is to develop, design, customize, and maintain company web-based applications and related systems. This includes implementing new web pages and sites; integrating sites with backend applications; migrating legacy applications to the Web and performing day-to-day administration of the organization’s Web portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Builds and customizes functionality and UI/UX on top of Shopify Plus and Optimizely platforms.
• Plans, designs, and implements web development tasks in support of the organization’s external and internal web-based applications.
• Tests, debugs, and documents web applications using appropriate editors, processes, and services.
• Updates web pages to conform to web standards using best practices and ensures content accuracy.
• Identifies and recommends new Web features and applications in conjunction with Web Development Manager and Digital team leaders.
• Registers web servers and sites with domain name services.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots any problems with existing web applications and sites.
• Works with Web Development Manager to design, develop, and update databases as they relate to web applications.
• Works with internal teams and external partners to ensure high level planning and design documents are in line with the vision for user experience, standards, and guidelines.
• Ensures security of all websites and related applications.
• Performs periodic website audits.
• Monitors and reports on website traffic and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or related field

3+ years of work experience in Web Development

Technical Skills:

• JavaScript (ES6+)
• React
• TypeScript
• Nodejs
• SCSS/CSS (responsive design)
• SQL/Relational databases
• AWS and/or Azure
• Git/Github
• APIs (building, consuming)
• Postman
• SSH/SSL/TLS
• PHP
• Shopify (Liquid)
• Optimizely ecommerce platform

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely - both written and verbally – especially demonstrated in an ability to explain technical problems with non-technical stakeholders
