LCRA is seeking a skilled videographer to shoot and edit on-location and in-house videos as part of our award-winning videography team. This videographer is well-organized, with strong knowledge of on-location production workflows and production equipment. This role also requires experience in working with and directing on-camera talent. The videographer will work closely with other video producers, content writers, social media managers and graphic designers in LCRA’s Communications department.
We are looking for a creative team player who has experience working on projects ranging from scripted studio pieces to training videos to documentary shorts. Although we work and collaborate as a group, the ideal candidate will be able to handle all projects as a one-person team when needed.

You will be trusted to:

  • Understand the full spectrum of the production process including camera operation, lighting and audio capture
  • Excellent videography and editing skills, experienced in directing talent.
  • Knowledge of core photojournalism skills, including title and caption writing
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud with a focus on Premiere and Photoshop. After Effects experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to generate compelling and interesting videos from script to screen. Strong story-telling experience required.
  • Studio and field production experience including DSLR and HD video camera operation, audio recording and lighting. Candidate must be familiar with lighting for studio settings but also be able to film on location with existing conditions.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills
  • Versatility and willingness to learn both new and existing technologies
  • Edits and logs video footage.
  • Assists in designing exhibits, presentations and displays.
  • Organizes and catalogs videos and photographs.
  • Provides grip, gaffing and set up assistance as needed.
  • Performs work by traveling independently throughout LCRA service territory.
  • Ensures proper storage and filing of historical videos/photographs with the LCRA archives.

    Work Environment:
  • Some work hours are spent in an office environment
  • Some work hours are spent in a facility, plant or outdoor environment
  • Work may involve weekends, holidays and non-standard hours
  • Work involves traveling and lodging out of town
  • Work involves exposure to various and sometimes extreme weather conditions

    Physical Demands:
  • Work involves frequent finger/hand manipulation in using video equipment
  • Work involves frequent standing and/or walking in shooting video
  • Frequently lifts and carries up to 50 pounds
  • Performs work at chest level or higher, including overhead full arm extension holding up to 25 pounds
    less than 20 percent of the time
  • Work involves frequent lifting up to 50 pounds from the floor to the waist
  • Work involves climbing, crawling, crouching or other non-sitting positions in positioning for certain video
    shoots less than 20 percent of the time
  • Work involves finger/hand manipulation in using a keyboard and mouse less than 20 percent of the time


You qualify with:

  • Six or more years of experience in corporate, broadcast and/or commercial videography and photography.
  • A degree(s) in photography, commercial art or graphic design, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license
