We are currently looking for a Full Time Therapist for our Four Winds Recovery Center located in Farmington, NM.

JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Counselor is responsible to provide counseling to insurance funded clients and COPSD counseling services to all individuals experiencing both mental health and substance abuse issues. Works to promote optimum mental and emotional health.

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8a - 5p

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide mental health counseling and COPSD counseling services to identified client population.
• Assess and diagnose clients’ mental status through interviews and observations, and develop treatment plans or make referrals to the appropriate services.
• Provide crisis intervention services to clients who are a danger to themselves or others.
• Work in conjunction with all facility staff to facilitate a safe environment for client recovery.
• Contribute to client care by participating in clinical staff meetings to review client progress and treatment plans, and report caseload activities to supervisor.
• Ensure documentation is entered into the electronic health record and deadlines for completion are met consistently.
• Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
• Work closely with management team to uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulatory standards as well as Cenikor policies and procedures.
• Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as defined in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Possesses strong clinical documentation skills.
• Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of mental health and substance abuse issues
• Experienced in COPSD counseling services and capable of identifying appropriate resources for client development and providing substance abuse counseling.
• Capable of discerning facts from opinions and remaining objective when listening to conflicting opinions.
• Experienced in working with diverse population.
• Possesses good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Outlook calendar.

Education:

• Master’s degree required

Experience:

• Two (2) years of mental health and/or substance abuse treatment experience preferred
• Knowledge/experience with dual diagnosis clients preferred

Licensure Required:

• LMSW required
