We are searching for a State Director to lead our Maryland facility grow operations including cultivation, manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and distribution of cannabis flower, oils, extracts, and more for Kind Tree products. Reporting to the VP Operations, this individual will play a pivotal role in leading people and driving operations for an exciting cannabis market in the midst of moving from medical to adult recreational in 2023.
You will be challenged to work strategically and tactically to motivate your team and drive excellent production and revenue results, and you’ll never experience the same day twice. One minute you might be working with your management team to refine an operational process, the next minute partnering with senior leadership to align on production and profitability goals for the next Quarter, and the next minute working with the marketing team to introduce a new brand to the market. Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse stakeholders within your building and across the organization.

Where you'll be planted: *
This role is on-site, 5 days per week at our brand new Hagerstown, MD facility. The State Director must be within a reasonable driving distance to the building in the event of an emergency.

To Be Blunt*
This role will be about:

  • Overseeing daily operations and performance for your state.
  • Assessing, evaluating, and reporting on staff as well as key business indicators.
  • Set company objectives, develop business strategies, conduct business, and managing employee development, engagement, and performance.
  • Strategizing and implementing operational and structural changes with other senior executives.
  • Providing oversight and support to the state leaders and managers.
  • Meet certain productivity and profitability goals as established from EVP and SVP of the company.
  • Full P&L responsibility.
  • Performing regular analyses of business operations and enhancing current business practices.
  • Preparing, delivering, and presenting reports and KPI updates at key executive meetings.
  • Ensuring that spending and budgeting are in line with business objectives.
  • Partnering with, implementing, and managing the division's HR policy and plan.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure company growth and stability.

  • A degree in business management, administration, or finance is preferred but not required
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar management role or position overseeing an employee population of at least 50.

  • Decision-making, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • A superb understanding of corporate legislation, company guidelines and state compliance regulations.

  • Extremely organized, punctual, and goal-driven.
