Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Nursing. The Staff Assistant will perform a wide variety of administrative support services within the Child Health Unit (CHU) in the Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) Middlesex Coastal local office. Under the direction the the Regional Nurse Administrator, the Staff Assistant is the central point of coordination for operations within the CHU and will also support nursing staff in the clinical activities of the unit.

Among the key duties for this position are the following:
  • Provides administrative, analytical, computing, and staff support for the CHU.
  • Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and responds to inquires.
  • Maintains essential records and assists in the maintenance of all service activity files.
  • Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analyses, monthly reports, program evaluations, and other related reports within prescribed guidelines.
  • Coordinates and maintains the CHU calendar.
  • Serves as a key communication link between the CHU, the Regional Nurse Administrator (RNA), and other administrative units such as Information Services and Technology.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Public or Business Administration, the Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
  • One (1) year of professional level experience in a business office, government agency, or university setting.
