What You Will Be Doing
- Lead multiple, complex, projects, long-term and short. This includes leading the engineers required to complete the projects, as well as communication and scheduling with other departments and team.
- Planning, budgeting, documenting, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Dell and HP servers and blades, PureStorage, Netapp, and 3Par storage, Brocade fiber-channel, Windows and Linux operating systems, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and Gitlab automation, Active Directory, DNS, MS Exchange, Powershell, and AWS.
- Help hire, train, mentor, and lead less-senior engineers.
- Train and mentor new employees. Train existing employees to be secondary contact on your technologies.
- Research, test, implement and document new technologies to improve efficiency, automation, competitiveness, and communication.
What You Need for this Position
- Experience managing complex technical projects, in on-premises data centers, cloud, and hybrid-cloud.
- Has led teams of engineers whether on or offshore.
- Has solid server, virtualization, storage, network, database, development, and security understanding.
- Has been involved in reviewing resumes, interviewing, hiring, and training new engineers.
- Creating budgets and reviewing ongoing costs.
- Worked with consultants and vendors to achieve successful implementations, ongoing support, and reduction of costs.
- Bachelors Degree (preferred).
