Position: USSF SpOC DCG-O S2Z Space ISR Acquisition, Analysis and Assessment SME
Location: San Antonio, TX (Primary), Dayton OH (Alternate)

Job Summary: Provide ISR system acquisition, analysis and assessment support to Space Operations Command (SpOC)/S2Z in the scoping, designing, integrating, and operationalization of existing and new units/capabilities across ISR Deltas. The specialized support shall include capabilities-based assessments (CBA), analysis of alternatives (AoA), technology research, material solutions analysis, and program management. SME will support the conduct of engineering studies, modeling & simulation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or industry standard (e.g., Object Oriented [OO] / Unified Modeling Language [UML] or Systems Modeling Language [SysML]) architecture development. Support will also focus on requirements development leading to formal capabilities documents (e.g., Joint Capabilities Integration and Development Systems [JCIDS]) or other requirements documentation. These activities will lead to research and development-related activities and fielded ISR systems, as applicable. Examples include data management systems to archive mission data, exploitation tools, and cross-domain data dissemination to stakeholders.
Duties Include:
- Coordinate, participate and conduct (as required) technical exchange/status meetings, interim reviews and final out briefs of formal products
- Provide ISR capability gap analysis and technology planning to address gaps
- Provide specialized studies and analysis, system analysis, information collection and market research
- Support to the analysis and modeling to simulate operational scenarios to determine effective ISR force options
- Analyze mission area technologies and deliver Mission Area Technology Assessment reports on key technologies
- Study, assess, and recommend innovative technologies for further development/testing and as necessary, transition planning and support
- Provide support to quick turn tasks for short notice support for mission area related development to include COCOM exercises, and witness/participate in demonstrations
- Support long term capability development activities of programs of record
- Provide Project Management support to ensure technology development, prototyping, experimentation, testing, and Joint Exercise/Wargame integration is consistent with mission objectives
- Support technology transition, studies, analyses, and assessments to include: CONOPs, CONEMPs, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Capability Based Assessments (CBAs)
Position Requirements:
- Systems engineering experience, education and/or certifications which may include defense acquisition is a plus but not a hard requirement
- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAIWA)
- Industry Standard Certification (e.g. International Council on Systems Engineering), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is a plus but not a hard requirement
- Knowledge, skills, and commercial tool utilization (e.g. SPARX Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw) is a plus but not a hard requirement
- Systems Engineering Plan (SEP)/Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) development is a plus but not a hard requirement
- Master's or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably technical, degree may be addressed via experience and recognition as a SME
- Enterprise Architecture experience, education and/or certifications such as (e.g. Department of Defense (DoDAF), Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Object/Oriented (OO) / Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Foundations in Enterprise Architecture (FEAC), Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) Black Belt or Associate CEA Green Belt is a plus but not a hard requirement
- Support Analysis and Assessment activities (e.g. CBAs, Capability Gap and Solutions Analysis, AoAs, Operational Utility Assessments, trade space analysis of cost, schedule, performance and life-cycle)
- Previous capability requirements development experience/knowledge (e.g. JCIDS or other requirements)
- Experience supporting Air Force, Space Force or DoD Special Access Programs.
Current TS/SCI, US citizen, willing to take CI Polygraph
Salary Range – 125k to 145k plus annual benefits compensation of 13.8k, plus 401k, annual bonuses, annual profit-sharing plan, paid time off
