PV Solar Installer

Job Description:

The Photovoltaic solar installer is responsible for the execution of solar system implementation in accordance with engineering design specifications and construction plans.

Assemble, install, or maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with onsite characteristics and design schematics. The PV installer will be responsible for expertise in several areas of hand tool usage including measuring, cutting, assembling, and constructing structural framing and solar modules. Basic electrical skills will come in handy with wire pulls, conduit runs, crimping, and other de-energized wiring methods. Although most PV installation is done outdoors, installers may be requested to work in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to connect the solar system to the electric grid.

Job Hours:

PV Solar Installers are expected to arrive at 7:30AM to job site for particular day and will be expected to leave at 4:30PM. This time slot will allow for an hour lunch break.

TerraSol will notify the installer of installation date changes, time changes, and other requirements for the installation time schedule no later than 24 hours prior to expected arrival time.

Installers are not expected to perform labor extending outside of the intended daily hours, but may be asked to do so.

Vacation and Time Off:

Installers will be allocated vacation days throughout employment dates.

Installers will be expected to provide written or oral notification to TerraSol Energies at least 48 hours prior to an installation date and scheduled work day. This practice does not apply to sick days or events of that nature.

Employment Pay:

Installer will be paid $25/hr. TerraSol Energies will require a log of hours for each work week, with detail included describing site arrival, lunch time, and site departure.

Installer will be responsible for filling out and submission of 1099 Tax Form for the extent of their employment with TerraSol Energies.

TerraSol will provide weekly payment upon compilation of work hours log books.

Travel:

Installer will be expected to have capacity to independently to TerraSol Energies, Inc. offices (64 Watkin Avenue, Chadds Ford, PA 19317) or directly to the job site (within maximum distance limitations).

Installer will be permitted to arrive directly to job site, but TerraSol will always provide transportation to job site if requested from the office location.

Job Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Candidate must be comfortable working on the roof. This includes but is not limited to pitched shingle roofs and flat roofs.
• Candidate must be knowledgeable of protective equipment to secure themselves while operating on the roof.
• Rooftop and electrical safety equipment provided by TerraSol Energies.
• No previous experience on rooftops necessary.
• No previous experience with solar applications necessary.
• We will provide all training required to bring candidate up to speed, all that is needed is willingness to work in high places with the property safety techniques and mechanisms.

Preferred Experience:

• OSHA 10-Hour Certification or 30-Hour Certification
• NABCEP Certification
• Construction and Craftsmanship Experience
• Pitched Rooftop Experience
• Electrical Systems Experience

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour
