Peraton is seeking a software tester who will work as part of the DevOps and Information Assurance (IA) teams on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, part of the Navy’s Tomahawk Missile program. These teams support the development of software deployment and monthly and quarterly IA updates.
Peraton develops several TMPC applications, providing support for tactical and training operations. Functions provided by these applications include mission planning; data distribution; strike planning, rehearsal, and coordination; strike execution, monitoring, and control; strike reporting; and communications configuration and data management/delivery.
The primary focus of your role on the DevOps and IA teams is to:
- Test deployment updates, including performing installs and verifying deployment changes in a development/test environment, prior to the deployment media being released for installation on TMPC systems and delivery to the customer.
- Test IA updates for the development team prior to the monthly and quarterly IA updates being released for formal test.
As part of the DevOps and IA teams, you will perform tests in the classified lab environment at the Santa Clara, CA facility. Some remote work is possible.
While testing is the primary responsibility, you will perform non-test activities, as needed and able, to support the overall focus and commitment of the teams.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Develop and execute tests following team/project conventions to verify deployment strategy and media
- Develop and execute tests following team/project conventions to verify IA updates for quarterly releases and monthly updates
- Report test findings and document new errors per team/project conventions
- Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks
- Understand TMPC hardware configurations and applications/capabilities for each configuration
- Learn program processes and procedures
- Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks
- Contribute to the evolution of the team/project standards and conventions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up)
BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10
The ideal candidate will have:
- An active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one
- 2-4 years experience with BS/BA in CS or EE or Math or related field
- 8-10 years experience with no degree
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong IT skills with experience working with a virtualized environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with experience isolating problems in a complex system environment
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to follow procedures
- Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
- Attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity with configuration management tools, including TFS
- IT/IA/DevOps experience

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $40,000 Salary Mid: $80,000 Salary Maximum: $100,000 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
