In this QA Engineer role, you'll be the QA linchpin of a couple cross functional teams delivering new and improved features to our real estate agent and third party developer userbases. Leveraging strong acceptance, exploratory, regression testing skills and technical knowledge, you'll be relied on to design test plans for complex API-powered features. This includes taking ownership of automated testing suites/processes and executing manual tests when appropriate. All the while, providing concise usability/product feedback to team members. While there is a distinct emphasis on API testing in this role, there are ample opportunities to showcase and expand automated UI testing (Selenium-Webdriver) skills.

This position is permanently remote. Onsite events optional. No travel required.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with team members to define acceptance criteria for new features.
• Provide concise, yet comprehensive, bug reports and product usability feedback to team members.
• Be a vocal participant and owner of quality on your team.
• Build and maintain automated API acceptance and regression tests (Ruby, RSpec, REST APIs).
• Build and maintain automated UI acceptance tests (Ruby, RSpec, Selenium-Webdriver, Capybara).
• Integrate automated testing solutions into CI;CD pipelines (Jenkins and GitHub Actions).
• Perform manual API and UI testing as needed.

Must have:

• 2+ years of professional experience with a programming or scripting language (Ruby preferred, but not required).
• Strong ability to read and manipulate XML/JSON payloads.
• Strong exploratory testing skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate CLI skills, particularly with Unix/Linux or basic networking commands.
• Some experience building, integrating, and/or testing REST APIs.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Expert knowledge of the following software testing strategies: acceptance, regression, smoke, exploratory, white box, and black box.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated testing suites on an Agile software team.
• Familiarity with GitHub.
• Familiarity with CI;CD processes and tools (Jenkins or GitHub Actions preferred).
• Familiarity with real estate technologies (RETS, RESO Web API, Spark API)
