Industry: HealthCare/Dermatology Product Manufacturing

Software Engineer has a lead role in the design, development, validation, and maintenance of software used in the manufacture of medical products. Software will interact with other components through established APIs, control specialized hardware, interact with SQL databases, and interface with the user. The Sr Software Engineer reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

• Analyze product requirements for selected components and develop software architectures
• Design specifications for implementing these requirements.
• Design, implement, and test software used in the manufacture of medical devices
• Implementation of software designs primarily in C#.NET.
• Documents requirements, design detail, validation protocols, and other associated artifacts to qualify and release software.
• Develops tests for software, including automated tests.
• Holds and participates in technical design reviews.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:

• Experience producing software for manufacturing of medical devices within a regulated industry is preferred.
• Experience with multiple embedded/real-time operating systems desired
• Successful experience with software/process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) is highly desired
• Candidates must be self-directed and highly motivated
• Ideal candidates will have good written and oral communication skills, a team-oriented approach, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong experience with windows applications and databases desired
• Experience with C# and .NET required
• Development experience with embedded platforms desired
• Hands-on experience with typical electronics laboratory test equipment
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Familiarity with requirements for formal testability
• Control system design and implementation desired
• Graphics programming desired
• BS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent
• A minimum of five years’ experience programming in a variety of languages, including object-oriented languages
