What You’ll Do:
Position open for an individual with little to some experience in rail terminal operations and equipment. Operates a powder (cement, fly ash, or other pozzolan materials) loading facility, opening and closing the rail car and truck lids, performs sample collection, sample testing, general maintenance, inspection, and cleanup of the facility. As directed, assist with maintaining fixed and mobile equipment: complete necessary paperwork and computer data entry associated with production.
Essential Functions:

• Comply with NorCal Material Safety Policies and Procedures and ability to wear all required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety glasses, safety harness, ear plugs, dust masks, gloves and responsible for onsite safety promotion
• Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility, work weekends, nights, overtime, shift work and holidays as needed
• Takes care of maintaining and cleaning of all equipment, also, maintains facility grounds, calls for maintenance work when necessary
• Maintain communication with the rail carrier or rail yard staff
• Monitor levels of cement, fly ash or other pozzolans in silos, rail cars and guppy’s
• Place orders of cement, fly ash or other pozzolan materials as needed
• Performs all required tests of cement, fly ash or other pozzolans as specified by the company; pulls samples for testing and for sending to customers
• Operates truck scales, creates tickets for billing information and responsible for all paperwork and reports as directed
• Operates all loading equipment for loading trucks and/or rail cars, may require the use of heavy equipment, manlift or a forklift
• Lift up to 100lbs, no fear of heights up to 60 feet and work at heights with required safety equipment without restrictions
• Perform repetitious motions to load and unload railcars, ascend and descend stairs and ladders, ability to do bending, kneeling, twisting in confined spaces and awkward positions, stand or sit at control panels for extended periods of time
• Work in intemperate weather when required or as assigned

• Planning/Organizing – Uses time efficiently, general working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and be able to cross train in other essential programs as designated or developed by the company, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos; to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
• Quantity – Meets productivity standards
• Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; use equipment and materials properly
