Job Title: Senior Project Accountant

Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage and support the project review process for the Irvine, San Diego, ESIS South, Nevada and Phoenix branches. Secondary will be billing for projects and support collections for project related activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule and lead monthly project review meetings, identifying and summarizing issues. Update ECAC’s upon completion of the project review meetings and circulates meeting minutes.
• Follow up on open action items from those meetings. Follow up to include work with the Project Managers, A/P, Billing Personnel and other Accounting Personnel.
• Drive project performance and compliance with policy by monitoring cost accumulation, billings, change orders, etc. and send out various weekly status reports.
• Review job status and close jobs in Coins that are complete, on a monthly basis.
• Work with liaison from N. Cal division to gather information to complete the weekly reports and get through the monthly closings.
• Coordinate annual audit efforts, with both internal and external auditors, for cash receipts and project related matters.
• Support the Collection Manager in following up on outstanding A/R related to projects.
• Assist with project billings as needed, especially on more difficult or complex projects.
• Track and follow up on Risk Assessment Values for projects greater than $250K. Schedule monthly meeting with the CFO and President for appropriate sign off.
• Ensure, or support other Billing personnel, in gathering the correct conditional and unconditional releases to support the billing for the applicable project(s).

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

• Excellent in Excel
• Understanding of Coins Accounting Software, a plus.
• Prior Construction Billing History a plus.
• Lien Release and Lien Law knowledge.
• Self-motivated and a good communicator, both written and oral.
• B.S. degree in accounting.
• CPA a plus.
