The Senior Lead Educational Instructor is responsible for educational services for children in an on-site children’s residential facility and direct supervision of all Education staff on campus. Responsible for the education and implementation of curriculum in the classroom for minors during their stay at the facility. The Senior Lead Educational Instructor is responsible for educational services for children in an on-site children’s residential facility and direct supervision of all Education staff on campus. Responsible for the education and implementation of curriculum in the classroom for minors during their stay at the facility. They ensure contractual requirements and client expectations are met at the on-site residential facility.
- Oversight of daily educational activities on campus and oversight of all Lead Education Instructors and Educational Instructors
- Responsible for the overall safety and security of unaccompanied children (UCs) during school hours.
- Implement curriculum for each UC according to the academic level of the child and any particular needs he or she may have.
- Provide educational services based on the individual academic development, literacy level, and linguistic ability of each unaccompanied child.
- Interact with children in an appropriate manner, including playing games or during recreational time.
- Provide remedial education and after school tutoring as needed.
- Maintain the UC educational case file and ORR Database in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.
- Responsible for adhering to all ORR and other state regulations.
- Performs duties in a safe manner. Follows the corporate safety policy. Participates and supports safety meetings, training and goals. Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Encourages co-workers to work safely. Identifies “close calls” and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.

- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in education, Spanish or English, or other relevant field.
- Texas Teaching certification required.
- Five (5) year experience in education
- One (1) year of teaching experience in a residential facility preferred.
- Must possess valid State Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with ORR policies and procedures, strongly preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Must have working knowledge of computers and the ability to use commercial software programs including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Possess a high degree of proficiency in assigned function and attention to details.
- Ability to answer multiple telephone lines.
- Maintain neat and orderly files.
- Ability to read, write and receive written and/or verbal instructions in English and Spanish.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills for interfacing with government, military and civilian customers.
- Ability to use computer manuals to perform system administration functions.
- Ability to use these forms and databases to provide monthly reports to the Government.
- Ability to greet visitors and ascertain the nature of their business and direct them accordingly.
- Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions.
