SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant performs various duties to support the accounting function’s goals of timeliness and accuracy in journal entry preparation and general ledger analysis and reconciliation. The accountant is responsible for ensuring proper accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following.
- Maintaining and reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Performs journal entries for general ledger related transactions.
- Assist in other areas in accounting and admin if necessary.
- Assist in monthly closings.
- Assist in year-end internal and external audit requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments as a basis for assuring complete and accurate financial information and appropriate documentation.
- Attends departmental meetings when necessary
- Maintains a professional appearance and neat work area
- Report to work on time as schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned
