We are currently hiring a Full-Time School Social Worker to support a Middle School. The School Social Worker will be responsible for providing support to one Grade Level within the building as well as 6 students from their self-contained classroom supporting students with neurodevelopmental diagnoses, mostly typically autism-spectrum disorders.

Location: Lake In the Hills, IL

Pay Range: $53,000 – $73,000 School Year Salary

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER ROLE:

• Master’s Degree in School Social Work (MSW) is required
• Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement is required
• Previous experience in a school setting is encouraged
• Ability to connect with people from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds

ABOUT THE SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER ROLE:

• Provide advocacy, child welfare, and case management services to students
• Works with parents and children in a confidential and caring manner and assists the family, school, and community in any way required to bridge gaps between family and school
• Assess, identify and provide clinical interventions to students with emotional, social, attendance and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population
• Perform consultations with classroom teachers and be a resource for school site personnel on mental health and social/emotional issues that may affect classroom performance
