Position Summary:
The Restaurant + Event Manager at Jimmy's is responsible for all aspects of service at Jimmy's including concert, private, corporate and social events. Service at Jimmy's is elevated, accommodating and warm. The Restaurant + Event Manager is an integral part the FOH management team's goal to be able to provide an elevated service model within the challenges of a live music performance. The Restaurant + Event Manager will be responsible for directing Private Event service and working with the Private Event Sales Director in planning and executing events.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage day to day restaurant and/or floor operations, and provide on-the-floor support to staff for duration of a service shift including but not limited to assigning server sections, overseeing side work, observing steps of service, and maintaining overall cleanliness/tidiness of the restaurant.
Updating Event BEOs. Communicating with the client leading up to the event to ensure the event is delivered as above and beyond what is promised.
Directing FOH management team for Event execution.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, coaching/counseling, and separation process of hourly FOH employees
Ensure restaurant and venue are fully prepared and organized for daily execution of the operation
Manage staffing and operations of all revenue centers including venue, bar, support staff, service, private events, as applicable based on designated area of focus
Prepare scheduling on a weekly basis
Ensure maintenance of property by examining areas daily for cleanliness and maintenance needs and directed to appropriate employees to handle
Resolve guest concerns and complaints with exemplary level of hospitality
Perform all cash handling procedures: opening, safe counts, cash pay-outs and nightly cash drops, as needed
Check in with guests in bar and restaurant area during shift to ensure guest satisfaction and identify any opportunities
Assist with staff trainings both in daily pre-shifts and monthly FOH staff service meetings
Demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate others, and achieve results. Empowered to make day-to-day decisions confidently both with guests, service teams and other departmental management.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with service teams and management.
Other duties, initiatives, and tasks as per business need
Work Environment:
- Daily office and restaurant/music venue environment
- Must be able to travel as needed
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
Job Requirements: Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
- Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 6-month time span
- Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
- Technical skills in strategic planning and service management/development
- Strong customer orientation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
