Job Title: Research & Development Technician - Lifting 30lbs or Less, Moderate Machine Operation

Location: Des Plaines, IL - 60017-5016

Duration: 12 Months (possible extension)

Description:

· Rotating shift, day shift is 6am-6pm for two weeks, night shift is 6pm-6am for two weeks.

· Clear concise verbal and written communications within the Pilot Plant Testing Operation’s Department; face to face, log and e-mail.

· HS&E Excellence – Displays ownership of safety for self, fellow employees, and the environment.

· Works well in a Team environment; follows through on commitments and build trust among others.

· Operate, monitor and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specifications during routine operations.

· Shift Technicians operate pilot plants while working a 12 hour shift rotating through day and night shifts, and are eligible for shift premiums and scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Basic Candidate Qualifications:

· High School Graduate; must be willing to use personal protective equipment.

· Possess good mechanical aptitude, math & basic computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Word.

· Must be willing to work a rotating shift, and get one’s hands dirty.

Additional Candidate Qualifications:

· Candidates should be detail oriented, have good communication skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely.

Special Considerations:

· Lifting is generally at or below 30Lbs. without significant repetitions; safety equipment is provided.

· Moderate exposure to machinery, chemical, biological, and physical risks is anticipated.

· Operation of a Powered industrial truck is considered at least Industrial and may be considered Heavy as determined by other exposures.
