Purchasing Assistant (Bilingual in Chinese) Job at Lions Floor

Summary:

Support purchasing team with duties that include maintain relationships with vendors, placing orders based on current inventory needs, track deliveries, update order records, and other duties listed below.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist Purchasing Specialist with product procurement.
  • Coordinate incoming product flow for efficient operations.
  • Receive incoming goods and enter into computer system.
  • Verify accuracy of receipt of all POs against invoices, including product numbers, quantities, costs, freight charges, additional charges and prices.
  • Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
  • Report and track shipment damages.
  • Maintain cordial working relationships with vendors.
  • Determine purchasing needs using quarterly and annual data and perform inventory management.
  • Manage purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules, and maintain purchase records
  • Maintain the confidentiality of organizational information.
  • Follow and adhere to Lions Floor’s purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Assist management on special projects or conducts research as assigned.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of systems and procedures as needed.
  • Assist with all purchasing activities relating to cost, quality and service, and provide guidance and cost-planning strategy.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the management.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Purchase and Supply, Business Administration, or related fields (Preferred)
  • At least two years of related purchasing experience and/or training (Required)

Skill Sets/Requirements:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to satisfactorily complete job:

  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Purchase and Supply/Business Administration
  • Two or more years of Purchasing experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in SAP, SAP Business one or other similar software.
  • Efficient in Google Suite and/or MS Office.
  • Must be detailed oriented, organized, reliable, and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Work well in a team environment and be flexible.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to effectively solve issues and quickly address concerns.
  • Ability to work and respond quickly under pressure.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, maintains courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations.

Language Ability:

  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and other purchasing-related documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP, SAP Business One or other ERP system background. Ability to work comfortably with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Suite.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use their hands. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
