Typical Hours: 8:00AM – 5:00PM M-F with occasional Saturday work.
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for creating and managing purchase orders for all chemical and packaging related expenses for all Valley Solvents and Chemicals’ branches. This role will work with Sales, Operations and Logistics for on-time deliveries and material replenishment. This role is also responsible for following the purchasing strategy of the Director of Purchasing. Tactical skills, along with strategic thinking are key in this fast-paced role.
Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders based on a Reorder Report
• Interacts with Sales, Logistics, and Operations to ensure a continuous supply of materials and that deadlines are met
• Helps Account Payables reconcile invoice issues every month to avoid late payments
• Resolve vendor related issues such as service and quality. Know when to elevate these issues to the Director of Purchasing.
• Assist in the set-up of new vendors and new chemicals
• Work to reach assigned goals by the established deadline

Skills and Experience*

• Minimum 2 years Purchasing experience
• Chemical industry experience preferred
• Must be able to prioritize and have excellent time management skills
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• High proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part as a team
• Ability to speak and communicate will with suppliers and internal customers.10+ years of progressive experience within Chemical Supply Chain/Procurement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $4,500.00 - $5,500.00 per month
