Project Controls Manager

Immediate full-time position for a Project Controls Manager to analyze and oversee all project financials for a dynamic and rapidly growing software company with headquarters in Irvine CA. You will be reporting directly to the CEO and working with project managers, accounting, and team leads to establish and implement cost and schedule financial controls across all programs. You will also be analyzing overall resource utilization as well as project trend of budget versus actuals, and recommending solutions to ensure adherence to project budgets, profit objectives, and growth planning.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement project performance systems companywide across multiple project managers
• Ensure project profit
• Provide all financial oversight and control of projects
• Monitor project to ensure it meets budget guidelines
• Establish and monitor WBS at detail level and identify risk and mitigation plans early on
• Track labor budget vs actuals / resource allocation management
• Control ODC, travel and vendor budgets
• Charge code oversight
• Work with finance, project managers, vendors, team leads to ensure financial controls and optimized resource loading
• Analyze wrap Rates, EVM, cost pools according to DCAA standards
• Review project budget and deadlines with project manager
• Generate and present financial and accounting reports to executive management
• Staff Resource Planning –Projections vs Actuals
• Analyze metrics/averages over multiple projects and recommend measures to improve results
• Business growth scenario planning

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant project controls experience
• BA in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with the agile software development methodology
• Experience setting up new processes and systems including dashboards/analytics
• Experience establishing and implementing project performance metrics across multiple project managers
• Experience with multiple contract types, i.e. CPFF, T&M, FFP
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Experience working for companies that sell Software Product and Engineering Services
• Experience working for a small business with minimal resource support
• Familiar with cost and schedule processes and standards
• Task and Goal oriented with an emphasis on detail
• Strong critical thinking and practical, problem-solving skills
• High integrity and trustworthiness
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams
• Able to follow instructions meticulously
