Aquatic Program Supervisor

Title of Supervisor: Aquatics and Safety Manager

Positions Supervised: Instructors

Status of Position: Part-time

SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES:

Under the general supervision of the Aquatics and Safety Manager, the Aquatic Program Supervisor will be responsible for the planning, supervising and direction of all Learn to Swim and American Red Cross Classes.

SUMMARY OF REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification and American Red Cross Water Safety
Instructor Certificate. American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and American Red Cross Babysitting Instructor
Certification also preferred.

SUMMARY OF EQUIPMENT USED:

The Aquatic Program Supervisor works with pool equipment, including, but not limited to kickboards, lifejackets and pool learning toys. The Aquatic Program Supervisor works with office equipment, including, but not limited to computer, printer, phone, TV, DVD Player and copy machine.

SUMMARY OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor pool facility. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions as well as humidity, ultra-violet rays, pool chemicals and chlorinated water.

MAJOR DUTIES AND TASKS:

Duty Percentage of Time Spent on Duty

1. Program Management 80%

  • Schedule/plan, and direct Learn to Swim and American Red Cross Classes.*
  • Hire, train, schedule and supervise Water Safety Instructors*
  • Recruit participants and build programs*
  • Interact and communicate effectively with staff, parents and participants*
  • Conduct thorough classes *

2. Administrative Responsibilities 20%

  • Maintain required American Red Cross records and report cards.*
  • Document any accidents/incidents that occur during classes and submit to Aquatics and Safety Manager in a timely manner.*
  • Track class surveys at the end of each session.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The position requires knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of all learn to swim strokes and lifeguard prerequisites
  • Knowledge of American Red Cross class guidelines
  • Preparation of Learn to Swim Sessions
  • Safety response and risk management
  • Knowledge of American Red Cross Learning Center Portal

The position requires skills and abilities to:

  • Be a leader
  • Communicate effectively
  • Be organized
  • Able to maintain timely and accurate reports
  • Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

* Can be acquired after hire

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

  • Rocky River, OH 44116: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
