Portfolio Manager Job at Glacier Bancorp
Altabank, the largest community bank in Utah, is hiring a Portfolio Manager at our Salt Lake branch.
ROLE:
With direction and supervision from department head, provides direct support to Relationship Manager(s) to develop and analyze all relevant credit information pertaining to a wide range of loans. Prepares or assists in the preparation of Credit Authorizations in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures for presentation to senior credit personnel and/or credit committees. Prepares detailed collateral analysis and coordinates appraisal and third-party analysis. Spreads and analyzes financial statement information to determine financial capacity of borrowers. Prepares thorough analysis of business and/or personal financial statements, and presents facts and is expected to provide personal analytical opinions, as appropriate, concerning creditworthiness of existing borrowers and prospects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Commercial loan underwriting: Analyze business and personal tax returns and financial statements, identify trends and concerns, and work closely with assigned loan officer and customers to understand and mitigate credit issues
- Prepare financial reports using spreading software
- Provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding applicants financial/credit status, suggest loan structures, and support the lending process
- Manage and maintain loan files
- Prepare spreadsheets and detailed written reports (loan write-ups) to be presented in loan committee meetings for approval for both new and renewal loans
- Determine value of collateral; review independent appraisal reports
- Monitor insurance requirements on loan collateral
- Complete loan monitoring through tracking loan maturities, prepare needs list and communicate with borrowers to obtain timely collection of financial information, ongoing covenant testing/monitoring, and borrowing base calculation
- Analyze/recommend line draws as requested by loan officer
- Assist with construction loan draws: verify budget availability, invoices, and inspections
- Collect past due accounts as requested by loan officer
- Assist with customer calls and marketing efforts as requested
- Work with loan applicants to develop loan package as requested
- Assist in the preparation of draft term sheets and commitment letters as requested
- Maintain knowledgeable of and able to promote bank products and services
- Work closely with assigned loan officers in a team environment
About You
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Five or more years of similar or related experience including experience with credit systems and preparing loan committee presentations
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00.

Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
