Physician Assistant Job at Glidewell Dental
Essential Functions:
- Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
- Interviews, diagnoses, and treats patients. Performs physical examination and routine health procedures.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
- Provide direct education to patients regarding their medical conditions and treatment options. Completes clear documentation of patient visits and/or telephone encounters. Completes referrals to specialty care as needed.
- Effectively utilizes huddles, care gap reports, and integration work to meet treatment and preventative care measures.
- Prescribes and/or dispenses medications as appropriate.
- Manages and responds to requests for medication refills, document completion, patient messages, and general questions timely and efficiently.
- Assume on-going responsibility for each patient from discovery of the disorder to recovery.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in primary care delivery and administration.
Special Requirements/Certification:
- Current California Physician Assistant license.
- Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Valid California Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license required.
- Must be able to pass an illegal drug screen, physical (including TB test), and background checks
- Ability to maintain professional development through self-directed and continuing education. Completes on-going education relating to healthcare compliance matters.
