The patient transporter is directly responsible for the courteous, safe and timely movement of patients from one
patient care area to another within the Medical Center. This includes the cooperative effort, with nursing
personnel to physically move the patient between the bed and mode of transportation (i.e. wheelchair, stretcher,
etc.).

- Moves patients between their beds on either a stretcher wheelchair according to the guidelines and
procedures. - Collaborates with nursing staff to ensure appropriate movement and transport of patient
- Handles and delivers patients chart according to hospital and department policies
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma.
- Entry level position. Experience in patient transport, medical experience and patient contact preferred.
On the job training will be provided by the Team Leader and Patient Transport staff. - Must be able to support and push patients of various body conditions (weights ranging from 100 lbs to
300+ lbs). Must be able to work with the paging system that allows the facility to track the movement of
the patients and the transport staff.
