PATIENT ENROLLMENT REPRESENTATIVE Job at Texican Inc.
The Patient Enrollment Representative communicates and facilitates patients with enrollment in the Medicaid Health Insurance Premium Payment program. This program supports low-income families and enables expanded access to services via commercial coverage. The representative will evaluate patient information to screen for potential HIPP enrollment. Should the representative determine that enrollment is possible, then the representative will educate and directly assist the patient with enrollment. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping others, will be well-versed in healthcare claim formats, medical insurance regulations, and an expert at initiating and responding to insurance inquiries. The Representative will also be responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality, handling personal information, and accurately inputting patient data into the system.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for verifying, documenting and coordinating information needed to process applications and other Eligibility Operations assignments
· Conducts health insurance policy analysis, documentation verification, employer coordination and customer service while ensuring accurate data entry, validation and timely processing
· Provide enrollment assistance and HIPP/Premium Assistance program information to Medicaid eligible recipients and their family members
· Verify, document, and investigate the presence of health care coverage for Medicaid recipients and their families
· Assist in the identification of members that qualify for the HIPP/Premium Assistance program.
· Complete periodic reports
· Demonstrate compassion and empathy when communicating and assisting patients with HIPP program enrollment.
· Data entry to include accurate and timely entry of information.
· Obtain or verify all items related to eligibility and enrollment into the HIPP/Premium Assistance program
· Complete maintenance of active cases during open enrollment and premium review for check processing to assist with maintaining the revenue and program growth
Position Requirements:
· High School Diploma
· 1 year of Customer Service experience
· Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
· Knowledge of the use of PCs and related software
· Enthusiasm and motivation essential
· Must reside in Baton Rouge, LA

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
