Located 16 miles south west of Chicago, Bedford Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 580 at the 2010 census. Bedford Park consists of a small residential area and vast amounts of heavy industry sprawling to the east and a small amount to the west.
Pactiv Bedford Park is a leading Extrusion/Injection Molding facility that produces plates, straws, cutlery, and wrapped cutlery kits for the food service industry. Built in 1974, our facility has 195,000 total square footage. We host 90 machines including Injection Molding, Extrusion, and Automated Robotic instruments. We produce approximately 75 million pounds annually and over 400,000 SKUs. We employ over 500 full-time and temporary employees who have helped us attain numerous awards including Quality Performer of the year and Safety Excellence.

- $1,000 dollar sign on bonus!
Starting pay rate at
$17.51/hr
- 12-Hour Rotating Shifts with EVERY OTHER WEEKEND OFF
- Night Shift Hours: 7PM-7AM
Comprehensive Compensation Package:
Pay Rate: $17.51 per hour including shift differential- Eligible for annual & skill-based wage increases
- Add EXTRA money to your paycheck by referring friends and family
- Eligible for monthly bonus based upon plant productivity*
Requirements of Packer Position:
- At least 6 months previous fast-paced manufacturing experience required
- Previous experience with night shift is highly preferred
- Experience with 12 hour shifts, is a bonus

Summary: Packer safely and effectively packs finished goods and prepares product for shipment.
Responsibilities of a Packer:
- Packers provides support for the operations team by working safely to feed material into machines, inspect product for defects and pack finished goods in correct configuration in a manufacturing setting / warehouse environment.
- Performs quality checks and ensures correct counts on various product sizes and packs into the appropriate packaging.
- Makes minor machine adjustments to minimize interruptions and ensure quality product.
- Replacement of adhesive tape in hand tapers and automatic sealing machinery.
- Ensure that any finished goods or work in progress identification labels are present and placed in the correct position.
- Stacks finished product in correct configuration, ready for transportation.
- Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping, and that area(s) of responsibility are safe, clean and tidy.
- Promptly inform supervisor of any issues concerning health and safety, hygiene, quality and efficiencies.
- Follows all Company established rules and policies; Adheres to all Safety rules and regulations.
- Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Previous packer experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is highly preferred
- Ability to work with others effectively as a part of a team is essential.
- Ability to follow standard work instructions is required.
