Outreach and Partnership Coordinator | Lancaster, PA Job at All Star Code

All Star Code Remote

ABOUT ALL STAR CODE

All Star Code is a New York City-based nonprofit organization that teaches coding, entrepreneurship, and career skills to young men of color. ASC was founded by philanthropist Christina Lewis, daughter of Reginald F. Lewis, the pioneering Black entrepreneur, businessman and activist. Our continuum of outcome-driven programming includes Exposure programs, the flagship 6-week Summer Intensive, and year-round Scholar Services. We partner with companies like JP Morgan Chase, MLB, Nike, Goldman Sachs, NBA Foundation, and The Orchard to introduce young Black and Brown men to the innovation economy, and in turn, close the wealth and opportunity gaps for communities of color.

OVERVIEW

All Star Code seeks to position itself nationally as a culturally responsive, outcome-driven computer science educational organization, with a goal of impacting 100,000 students in 10 years. We aim to create a significant presence in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2023 and beyond, establishing ourselves as a unique academic and professional resource for young men of color through our programming. This effort will begin in January 2023, as we seek to recruit 40-60 students in Lancaster for the upcoming virtual Summer Intensive (running July 10 - August 18, 2023).

All Star Code does not currently have Lancaster-based staff to conduct outreach and partnership work with local youth-serving nonprofits, educational networks, and civic organizations. We’re seeking a consultant to conduct outreach to drive recruitment, develop and formalize partnerships, and build long-term student pipelines by March 30, 2022. Reporting to Nadine Friedman-Roberts, Sr. Program Director with support from other ASC leadership personnel, this person will lead the recruitment process and follow-up efforts required to populate the program and create momentum for All Star Code in Lancaster.

  • Research potential partners based on All Star Code’s criteria, identify key stakeholders and generate interest in All Star Code
  • Develop and codify an outreach strategy, collaborating with ASC leadership (i.e., Comms and Marketing, and Program) to align internal goals with new and existing partner relationships
  • Conduct outreach to institutions including educational networks; key individuals at public, private, and charter schools; mentoring organizations; corporate / DEI programs; those previously identified by All Star Code
  • Work with the sponsor, The Steinman Foundation, to coordinate in-person learning during the SI
  • Utilize shared documents to track progress on outreach and provide weekly updates, and conduct the appropriate transfer of data and relationships at end of the contract

QUALIFICATIONS
