POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of Arizona State University’s charter to provide access and excellence, ASU Preparatory Academy (ASU Prep) shares this commitment by demonstrating all students can achieve at the highest levels, regardless of their background. To scale our current impact, ASU Prep is advancing a major expansion program taking fundamental responsibility for the communities we serve.
The Next Gen Learning Coordinator provides training and support to all teachers and leaders at the ASU Prep Academy immersion (in-person) sites, as it relates to the successful implementation of student-centered learning. They will be responsible for supporting and implementing ASU Prep learning models. The Next Gen Learning Coordinator is also responsible for providing ongoing support to all on-site teachers and Learning Facilitators, by promoting active learning and blended strategies, training, and mentoring.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or related field.

Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in teaching, test administration, advising, or similar educational role.

Experience with coaching teachers in the classroom setting, required.

Experience with virtual learning labs preferred.

Active Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) issued IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

70% of the time will be spent coaching teachers and supporting student centered next generation model implementation at immersion sites.

Create and present professional development to all of the ASU Prep with assistance from the Next Gen Learning team.

Monthly design team meetings.
-
Leads and assists in supporting teachers and Learning Facilitators with blended, hands-on lessons.

Supports teacher and Learning Facilitator by modeling appropriate behavior in the classroom and encouraging on-going communication.

Directly support partnerships by working with students and/or staff to troubleshoot technical issues.

Provides support with ASU Prep curriculum.

Provides direct individualized support to teachers based on identified risk factors with their students to help develop individual plans for success.

Responsible for weekly site visits, or as needed, to evaluate the implementation progress throughout the school year to ensure each center is running efficiently and assist teachers with troubleshooting technical errors.

Communicates regularly with the ASUPD leadership regarding partnership progress, coaching process with teachers, technical performance, student outcomes, survey results, and other topics that suggest communication.

Coordinates and works effectively with the instructional team to ensure brand consistency, integrity in customer service, and in meeting high performing outcomes.

Develops a deep understanding of ASU Prep Curriculum and systems to ensure successful implementation; participate in, up to and including teaching, courses to develop rich understanding of systems, software, student demographics, expectations and operations; work with subject matter experts (SME’s) and curriculum development staff to continuously collaborate on improvements to ASU Prep Digital courses.

Delivers professional development among the teachers and Learning Facilitators.

Develops and maintains strong industry relations, attends professional development, webinars or conducts visits to exemplar schools to stay abreast on current and upcoming trends in educational technology, blended or digital models.

Writes/contributes ideas to educational, learning, and digital journals and presents at conferences in the industry.

Conducts formal and informal learning walks using the Highlander Institute Priority Practice tool.

Opportunities to develop and support new schools and learning models.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

LOCATION:
Immersion - This position requires daily travel to the physical ASU Prep campuses in and around the Phoenix, AZ metro area.
TRAVEL:
Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
