SUMMARY
The Midwest Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the overall integrated marketing plan and associated activities for the Midwest business, working across all marketing communications channels both traditional and digital. Working with SVP Marketing, Creative Director and key business stakeholders, the Marketing Manager builds the plan, briefs for campaigns and creative, and ensures the executions of the plan deliver business results. The Midwest Marketing Manager also plays a key role in client, associate, and community engagement. The Midwest Marketing Manager will also collaborate with the SVP Marketing and other portfolio company marketing teams in key corporate wide initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads overall marketing plan and marketing activity calendar for the Midwest businesses ensuring that the plan is built to align with business objectives.
- Leads overall media planning for the Midwest business, working with media partners to develop efficient, effective media strategies and plans.
- Leads digital marketing efforts for the Midwest business, including SEO/SEM, social media marketing, display advertising, affiliate marketing any other digital tactics relevant to the plan.
- Leads overall social media strategy for the Midwest business, working with external and internal team members to ensure that we have a synergistic plan delivering meaningful business results.
- Leads internal and external public relations efforts for the Midwest business, including relationships with key media partners and outside PR agency (as appropriate).
- Leads the development of ongoing client communications such as e-newsletters, direct mail and other pieces, working with the creative team on development and execution.
- Set overall goals and direction for Midwest websites and monitors performance, with the goal of driving business results in terms of lead generation and conversion.
- Manages and monitors the company’s media partners, marketing calendars and social media schedules to ensure ongoing alignment with business objectives.
- Leads and manages the company’s holiday gift program, ensuring the brand is well represented, working with the creative team on development appropriate gift ideas and executions.
- Manages the Midwest business philanthropic giving effort, working with management to define philanthropy strategy, allocation of resources, and develop partnerships with key existing and target organizations. Works with creative director on execution.
- Acts as community engagement liaison, working with community partners, stakeholders, and friends of the company to promote the company and the communities where we live and work.
- Works with HR and other business leaders on internal newsletters and communications.
- Trains and guides subordinates (as assigned) into accomplished professionals.
- Communicates with outside vendors regarding marketing material status and commitments.
- Arrives for each work day on time and prepared.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in and contribute to Mariani initiatives.
- Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments.
- Recommend process improvements and areas to improve our service offerings to clients.
- Participate in other department and business functions as needed (i.e. the snow removal process in emergencies, holiday retail, administrative support, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is responsible for assigning, reviewing, and checking work of other employees.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree
Field of Major Study (if applicable):
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years proven experience in integrated marketing communications spanning traditional and digital channels
- Hand-on experience in marketing planning, creative briefing and evaluation and marketing analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, Various social media platforms and applications, Wordpress, and Google Analytics
- Outstanding leadership and organization skills
- Exemplary interpersonal and creative problem solving skills
- BSc/BA in marketing or marketing communications
