SUMMARY:

The Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Director of Converting, is directly responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of paper converting equipment workers in a manufacturing environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Safe and efficient equipment operation achieving targeted production rates
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
• Supervise and hold accountable approximately 30 employees per shift
• Conduct training in equipment operations or safety procedures, and assign training to experienced workers
• Accurate and timely completion of all documentation
• Maintain operations data such as time, attendance, production, and prepare management reports of results
• Schedule adequate labor to meet the production schedule
• Deploy operational and maintenance resources to drive operational efficiency
• Lead and coach employees, increasing their effectiveness to create a positive and productive work environment
• Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hiring, evaluations, investigations, or promotions
• Able to make good economic business decisions in a rapidly changing environment
• Openly communicate information to supervisors, co-workers, or subordinates
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts
• Set and sustain Standards for work performance, housekeeping, and compliance

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 5+ years manufacturing supervision experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Good conflict resolution skills
• Must be able to develop and lead a cohesive, productive shift team
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions
• Ability to effectively lead meetings
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook and Office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,500.00 - $67,000.00 per year
