Job Summary
Provide technical support for operational challenges regarding plant-wide operations. Work with the operational team to improve plant-manufacturing efficiencies and provide support in continuous improvement processes of finished and component goods produced within the business. When assigned, specify and direct installation of new equipment to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity goals can be achieved on a daily basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate and execute continuous improvement manufacturing activities
Utilize proven lean manufacturing-based problem solving to identify opportunities for improvement on unplanned downtime reduction and equipment efficiency
Support and continuously improve processes, capacity & equipment using current project management, process control tool methodology
Provide analytical problem solving and process troubleshooting support in all areas of manufacturing, focusing on CNC machining and tooling
Plan and perform a variety of duties involved in design, development, and continuous improvement of production equipment
Review new product designs for integration onto the production floor
Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and plant efficiency improvements
Support on existing projects as well as the coordination, implementation, and planning of new projects, which would include the purchase of new capital equipment
Interaction with production, purchasing, and operations management on daily plant matters
Effectively participates in a team setting to achieve results
Communicates process and project status to the management team
Requirements
3-15 years experience in a manufacturing environment
BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience developing processes, designing fixtures and specifying tooling in a manufacturing environment
Strong computer and office software skills
CAD skills required
Preferred
Experience in Solidworks
Strong knowledge of MRP concepts and theories
