THE OPPORTUNITY:
As a Legal Secretary you will perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties for assigned attorneys, as well as back-up support for the team. You will interact with colleagues in a team setting and uphold the image of the firm by maintaining positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff, and observing confidentiality of client matters.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
On any given day, you will be working with firm leadership, partners, and business colleagues on a variety of projects and requests. You will:
- Provide daily support for assigned attorneys in all aspects of their practice;
- Draft, revise and finalize correspondence, memoranda and other documents; review and file email;
- File legal documents in federal and state courts, including e-filing in all courts and agencies; prepare documents for service of process; prepare case “shell” documents for use by attorneys;
- Verify all attachments, exhibits and enclosures are included with transmittal letters/memos;
- Handle calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reimbursements and vendor invoices;
- Open new matters and assist conflicts issues and questions;
- Maintain all client and general files. Conduct periodic review for possible storage of old files and prepare files to be closed;
- Coordinate and follow through on requests and projects with other support departments;
- Assist with attorney time and billing matters as needed;
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
YOU HAVE:
- 5 – 10 years of legal secretarial experience working with multiple attorneys
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills and the ability to produce quality final work product
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of legal terminology
- Experience with iManage or similar document management systems
- Demonstrated experience managing calendars, arranging travel and handling expense reimbursements
- Knowledge of Carpe Diem and Elite a plus
- A client-service approach and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work core business hours with flexibility for overtime, as required

The salary range for this role is $38.46 to $46.15. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles - Century City. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
