Responsibilities
Conduct interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions.
- Provide admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients.
- Respond to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
- Admit patients to the hospital and register outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility.
- Document calls and related admission information.
- Review all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence with hospital and regulatory policies.
- May staff a crisis hotline.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- One or more of the following required:
- Master Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Michigan Board of
Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing
Office. - Limited or fully licensed Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work
obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office. - Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Master Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Michigan Board of
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
