LSSC student employee supervisors will work with student employees on their work schedules to ensure that education is the priority.
The Admissions and Records Office is seeking student workers to staff the Information Desk in the lobby of the Student Services Building on the Leesburg campus.
The Information Desk Attendant will be responsible for answering the College Switchboard, greeting guests, students, and staff who enter the Student Services Building, and assisting with general office support duties.
This position is located in the Admissions Office on the Leesburg Campus.
1. Answers calls on the College Switchboard that connects all three campus locations and housed on the Leesburg campus.
2. Shares information and responds to inquiries regarding college programs, events, departments, services, and procedures related to admissions, registration, records, graduation, international students, veteran students, new student orientation, events, programs, and college operations.
3. Provides welcoming and friendly service to all internal and external constituents.
4. Performs office support duties such as indexing, distributing mail, and ensuring the office is supplied with forms, handouts, and promotional pieces.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be a current LSSC student.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communications, to ability to communicate effectively in writing, on-the-phone, and in-person with students, parents, administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
- Ability to interact with a diverse student population in a pleasant, tactful, and courteous manner.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse and satisfy difficult customers.
- Excellent computer skills, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and data review using the Internet and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle multiple phone lines and transfer calls to appropriate personnel with minimal “run around” for callers.
- Ability to maintain friendly, cheerful, and helpful manner throughout the day despite a busy work environment with multiple interruptions.
- Ability to demonstrate the four College Service Excellence Standards of respect, competence, responsiveness and collaboration when interacting with students, parents, employees, visitors, and community members.
