We are a technology company that has developed a completely new, fluid-free, electric alternative to hydraulic cylinders, for heavy equipment and machinery. Our technology enables OEMs to deliver battery-electric products to their clients at diesel-hydraulic-equivalent or better performance, reliability, runtime, and cost. The key differentiator is our cylinder uses 65-90% less power than hydraulic cylinders.

Role

Our company s is looking for an Electrical Engineer with experience in controls applications, telematics and/or power electronics. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience in both schematic capture and layout, preferably using Altium Designer. Their skills strike a balance between operating independently and collaborating with teammates and co-workers. They will be able to add to best practices in electrical design and production, and have contributed to designs that have scaled to mass production. Preferred experience in secondary (... tertiary, quaternary) sourcing of critical components, and able to assist in all facets of EE design, test, and prototype manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Design of PCBs used in a variety of applications, from direct motion control, to sensing, to communications and RF
  • Contribute to design documentation, participating in NPI processes like requirements capture and definition, project scope and definition, and functional test design
  • Schematic capture and layout of PCBs using Altium Designer
  • Participate in review and documentation of proposed cylinder applications
  • Design and execute board and system level electronics tests for bringup and validation
  • Contribute to the development and execution of team processes to enable efficient communications and product delivery
  • Participate in design reviews for electronic modules and assemblies
  • Assemble and rework electronics as necessary
  • Maintain and improve components libraries in Altium, and assist in producing standards documentation
  • Participate in manufacturing processes including test design, vendor qualification and QA

Requirements

  • 2-6 years experience with design, prototyping, and validation of electromechanical systems including electric vehicles, autonomous vehicle, robots, or material handling apparatus
  • Significant experience designing electronics including PCBs, wiring harnesses, and systems used in the control of electromechanical devices
  • Experience with EE simulation using LTspice or similar packages
  • Experience suppressing EMI noise in PCB layout
  • Experience with opening and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Posesses a great attitude for learning new technologies and brings new points of view to our growing team

Preferred skills and experience

  • Experience designing products to be compliant to regulated industry standards to include medical, defense/aerospace, and/or automotive
  • Has shepherded a product through one or more regulatory and compliance cycles as above
  • Have developed and shipped a product, participating in the full product lifecycle
  • Significant experience designing with Altium Designer
