The Role

As a Pason International Offshore and Frontier Field Sales Technician, you will install, maintain, and promote Pason’s full line of Drilling Instrumentation and Monitoring products and services. Your region will largely focus on the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. As a Field Sales Technician, you will provide training to rig crews on Pason equipment and inform them of additional products and services available with a goal of expanding and increasing Pason’s market share and revenue per day.

This position will be located in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install Pason equipment to the standards set by the Offshore and Frontier team

• Ensure that Pason equipment and all its components function to the satisfaction of the customer

• Ensure all users understand the operation of the system and all its relevant features

• Manage and be held accountable for Pason equipment inventory in the field

• Maintain records on the Pason Operations Database as related to Pason equipment and customers

• Write Service Call Tickets and Job Reports in accordance with the Pason Offshore and Frontier Procedure

• Document and report all hardware and software problems

• Provide regular communications, both phone and e-mail, with Pason Regional Manager and Field Sales Technicians while working in the field per the Offshore and Frontier Procedure

• Participate in Weekly Team Meeting and maintain regular contact with Regional Manager when not in the field

• Constant and continual improvement of Pason product knowledge and knowledge of the petroleum industry in general

• Maintain an expense account as per Pason Expense Policy

• Provide feedback for the improvement of Pason equipment, documentation, procedure and policy

• Perform all duties in the safest possible manner as per Pason safety manual

• As needed, provide support to other Pason Business Units

• Any other responsibilities as assigned by Pason Regional Manager

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

• Experience with oilfield drilling and service rigs, as well as with instrumentation, is an asset but not required

• International travel a plus

• Offshore experience is a plus

• Pason recognizes military experience

Physical Requirements

• Frequent exposure to the well site environment including noise, wind, oil-based products, and heights

• Frequent exposure to electronic devices including computers, lap tops, and cellular phones

• Regularly converse verbally and in writing with customers and employees

• Regularly required to stand, sit, reach, and move about the facililty

• Some physical effort and lifting of approximately 50 pounds, ability to climb 30 or more stairs, ability to climb 6” ladder

Travel

• This position requires extensive international and domestic travel.

• Typical travel for any given job is 2 to 4 weeks on location. While the standard workload varies and is non-rotation based, there may be instances where a 30-day international rotation would be required.
