Position Description
*This is a remote role, candidates from all US geographies will be considered.*
Our 2023 Summer internship program is an 8 week Paid Internship that runs from June 5 – July 28. The program will join interns across the country who are supporting different department focuses at American Cancer Society. 80% of the time will be in working within the given department, with the Intern's manager, their mentor, and the team. The other 20% will be with a cohort of other interns around American Cancer Society.
An Integrated Marketing Communications Intern assists in media relations, advertising and promotional efforts for the American Cancer Society’s mission including events, patient services, health education and volunteer recruitment.
- Complete clerical and administrative duties
- Build social media campaigns
- Draft press releases and media alerts
- Write personal interest stories
- Prepare promotional materials
- Support social media strategies developed by either the National or Regional teams
- Assist in implementing plans to increase engagement on social media channels
- Provide creative ideas to help to emotionally connect with the ACS audience and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
- Develop and post content to the region’s social media channels.
- Experience using Canva is preferred.
Position Requirements
Must be available Mon-Fri at 37.5 hours per week for the entirety of the 8 week internship program, June 5 - July 28th. Flexible scheduling may be offered on a case by case basis.
Full-time student, If you are an undergraduate student you have completed your freshman year of college;
Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale);
Plan to continue their education in the following term/semester

The starting rate is $15.00 to $18.00 per hour. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended.
